When Erika, Reaps, and Russell approached me about being photographed for my Loving Couples project, I was especially delighted. I knew the three of them to be long-term, committed sexual partners, and the opportunity to photograph a threesome was a special treat for me.
There was however, a logistical problem -- namely that they were only going to be in San Francisco briefly, and wouldn’t be staying at a place where we could do a shoot. At the time (2005), I was living in Santa Cruz, so I didn’t have a San Francisco place that we could use either. What to do?
