Allena is probably best known as the founder of The Wet Spot, the center for sex play and education of the Seattle’s Center for Sex Positive Culture. In addition to being a brilliantly appointed play space for BDSM people in the Seattle area, the Wet Spot offered hundreds of lectures, workshops, and support groups for people of all sexual persuasions.
My good friend, Allena Gabosch, for decades a central figure in Seattle’s sex-positive community, died on 25 November after a long battle with mesothelioma (cancer usually connected to exposure to asbestos). Allena was truly one of special people on this planet, shining light and energy on everyone around her. Her passing, while expected for some time, is a sad moment for thousands of her friends and colleagues.
